cake-free

As I am getting more and more particular with the details of the wedding, the cake would be the last concern. As Gen and I did a study on how the Bible-time people did their weddings, there was no mention of the cake. So, that confirms it.

Nonetheless, when I saw this, I thought twice:

Printing 1 Corinthians 13 (one of the chapters we intentionally memorized–and try to live) would be nice as ‘eating the Word of God” is Biblical. One layer would be enough, right? We can’t splurge on a piece of sweetness that people can never taste. But Gen digressed, “One layer? Parang birthday lang noh?!”

Hehe.

Two?! =D

My parents had one layer. Would it be nice to keep that as a tradition? Naks. Palusot.
But really, after having visited cake studios here in Davao City, I am tempted to having three or five.
This event
Our event is a testimony to God’s faithfulness after all. It’s worth celebrating, yes! With how it will be financed? God has His ways.

And sure, He does. A classmate from college called to get the cake for us! Amazing! Ang sarap mag-obey! So, right now, I’m relieved of the cake stress. I’m feeling freedom right now! Wahehe!
Praises!

so this is love

I’ve been listening to the classic version of this song (see video below) since [when]. Really blown away now as I imagine the reception. Everyone beaming and having their moment of love, too. For that night will not just be about us, but also our friends and family. Rekindling love.
Hoping in love.
Hoping in Him Who Is Love. Either of the two, everyone must be privileged and has the right to love and be loved.
Surely, God’s love is beginning, process and end. All the rest are about [it] and perks to that which is Genuine and Lasting.

royal heartness

I woke up feeling all-too-princess-y today. (Mind you, green tea is effective!) As Monday’s keep all of us busy, mine usually starts at 3AM to beat the 8AM deadline of my work week. But this morning, I opted to sleep well and sleep deep. Good for me, I surmise. I need all the rest in the world while half of me thinks that I need all the work that I can be opportuned with. Three-months and a half to go.

Smitten.

Here is another week that gets me caught up in all things and icons that are kingdom-ly. First off, Kabacan ministry will commence on Saturday–and I will be there (woohoo!); Merje, Mayee, Ilyn and I are conceiving mode of Samal ministry; while Langga is getting Mati ready for invasion; I have three klosels (mine, Langga’s, and Blessy’s) to hold this week; and I should be finalizing the vintage chair that I wanted to get. I have never felt so near to doing the kingdom-agenda and so close to being the Church–the Bride of Christ–until I am here–getting ready to be wed.

(This is the blog I wanted to start).

Bridesmaids: More Than Who They Are Known For

Eighteen bridesmaids. I know it’s a lot. But that cannot compare with how many ladies wait on a bride in the Jewish times. They prepare with her while her groom is away and while they wait for the [day].

Before, whenever I think of getting married someday, I do not really imagine bridesmaids with me. A maid-of-honor who can do the necessary tasks is enough. Bridesmaids seem to be just decorations and they add up to the payables.

I was wrong.

When I checked the Bible, ladies in waiting are there. And truly, my disciples, closest friends and key leaders, along with my cousins and Gen’s sisters are a few of the girls I consider to be the reason I keep myself pure–next to the expression of loving God. Yes, their primary role is to keep the bride beautiful and pure. And I am blessed to have my bridesmaids–my friends and teammates who inspire me to live large, beautiful and pure.

I love these girls (and the girls I get to inspire–hopefully, marami) and I love journeying with them in the value of womanhood and chastity.

Tonight, we signed the Bridesmaid’s Contract. (Don’t worry, it sides on the fun stuff rather than the serious! =D) It was fun and it keeps me excited to plan the wedding with them. #handsonbridewiththoughtfulbridesmaids
